1st Grade Teacher
Sterling Classical School
Sterling Classical School is a Christian, Classical, college-preparatory model that partners with PreK-12th grade parents to produce well-rounded students that are solid in their faith. We integrate the Charlotte Mason philosophy into our delivery of instruction because we believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged in hands-on learning. Sterling is seeking a 1st Grade Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year for a 3 day a week position (Monday/Tuesday/Thursday).
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Candidate will be a strong Christian and have a nurturing and loving disposition with young children.
· Demonstrate a willingness to continue to grow and learn through training and professional development.
· Agree with our Statement of Faith (available on our website)
· Follow the pacing guide and curriculum provided.
· Work as a team with faculty and staff members and post lesson plans for both school and home days.
· Be passionate about a Christian, Classical education with a hands-on approach to create a love of learning.
· Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with parents and administration.
· Possess a bachelor’s degree in education and teaching experience.
On-Campus Time Requirements:
· This position requires the candidate to be on campus Monday/Tuesday/Thursday from 7:30am-3:50pm from August 13, 2024-May 8, 2025.
· Perform all duties as listed in your contract.
· Attend three days of summer training and meet with co-teacher.
· Attend all in-service and back-to-school events the week of August 5th.
Salary:
· The salary range for this position is $23,000-26,000 depending on experience.
